Roo Gardner (Spidersilk) is a DJ, aspiring producer and miniature creative force with a passion for music and building community in the Vegas underground and beyond. A sonic omnivore with roots in the darkwave/industrial scene and a constant ear to the wider world of EDM, her appreciation of electronic dance culture and history runs deep.
In 2007 she joined the Nepenthe Industries Crew for their summer DJ Bootcamp sessions, where she fell in love with the art and science of DJing and had the opportunity to learn and hone her skills. She was playing on the strip at Krave Lounge (Planet Hollywood) within the year, and since then, she has been busy rockin’ dancefloors all over town, including The Muse, Carpe Noctem, The Artisan, Ghostbar, Brass Lounge, LVCS, the King’s Room, the Mob Bar, and more. She has held multiple local residencies and opened for several notable acts including Voltaire, Marquis of Vaudeville, and VNV Nation.
Roo has also worked with local cultural creative troupe Slave of the Muse since 2009, serving as Head DJ for special events such as the Anonymity Ball and Seraphim Ball. She occasionally moonlights as alter-ego Scarlett Scarborough, a pirate hostess and DJ for Le Salon Du Coeur Libre, her local steampunk group holding monthly costumed nightlife events.
While working at the Muse nightclub in 2010 with Aaron Bataluer, Roo met Victor Savelle. Their friendship was cemented when they all worked together on the Seraphim Ball, a cross-genre unity-themed New Years’ event. This collaborative effort gave them the chance to discuss their mutual love of dance music and put into practice their ideas about unity and respect within the world of EDM. Later, when Victor & Dan began their EDM Nightlife project, Roo jumped at the chance to help out in any way she could, and the rest is history.
