Aaand of course (as always), Skrillex has been keeping it very busy. So busy in fact, all the news are going to be very tough to fit all into one article, and by the time I finish writing this, there will be even more news. So here I'm just going to cover some new highlights you may find interesting.

First and foremost, talks about Skrillex's new label has flooded the net, and for a good reason. The 23-year-old producer has been busier than ever, and there is no sign of him slowing down at all. He recently recorded a track with the surviving members of the Doors, specifically with Robby Krieger, John Densmore and Ray Manzarek. The track is part of a bigger (and very unique) project called "Regeneration Music Project" which is a documentary flick with a great concept: slam five known DJs/Producers with artists from five distinctly different genres and send them in the studio to record some unique toons.. More on the project on RegenerationMusicProject.com In more detail, the project is directed by Amir Bar Lev, features DJ Premier, the Crystal Method, Mark Ronson, Trombone Shorty, Pretty Lights, Nas, the Berkley School of Music and many more.. Skrillex's musical composition with the Doors will fuse well. People predict (obviously) that Skrillex's touch will be mostly lower end basslines and beats, while the Doors guys will harmonize and focus on adding their sound on mids and highs. Check out the trailer and the related videos on YouTube to get lots more info and insight on this project.

Back to OWSLA. If you haven't researched yet, OWSLA is a reference to a classic heroic fantasy novel "Watership Down" published in 1972. The reference is used as in the book, a small pack of rabbits in the safe haven. It does make sence when you ask artists who are on the label, they will all tell you that OWSLA does not feel like a "regular" label. It's more like a tight group of friends recording and releasing music, unlike other succesful labels that focus more on hierarchy and "who's the boss", therefore alienating their artists, squeezing deadlines, choking creativity, etc. You get the point: You wish you were on OWSLA, basically. When you got so many talented producers in one pack, you are bound to succeed.

Basically, Skrillex keeps pluggin' away at production, his North American Tour, the Regeneration Project, his label and who knows what he's planning next... We will let you know as soon as we find out more.
